The Redberry Farm

The Redberry Farm – George Hartenbos, February 20, 2009   The Redberry Farm is situated just outside of George and close to Fancourt Golf Estate on the Garden Route of South Africa. This farm is suitable for young and old, with lots of fun activities to keep you entertained with all day long. The Farm also offers horse riding for everone. The Redberry Farm has the best strawberry you could ever imagine! Pick your own strawberries and enjoy the finest quality of carefully selected berries. The tea garden is set in a tranquil atmosphere were you can relax while enjoying a lunch or afternoon tea. It is the ideal setting for birthday parties and other functions. Their Country stall offers you a range of strawberry products and also ranges of non-strawberry products like gifts, cheese, feta, cherry peppers and much more. Tour groups, pensioner groups, school groups and any other group are all welcome as long as prior bookings are made. The Farm is open from Tuesdays to Saturdays and on Public holidays as well.

George Botanical Gardens

George Botanical Gardens Hartenbos, February 20, 2009   When visiting George on the Garden Route of South Africa a visit to the George Botanical Gardens should be on you list of places to see. The garden was started in 1997 by a group of volunteers who were concerned about the diminishing indigenous flora of the area. Many flowering plants from the Garden Route and inland Southern Cape, many of which area rarely seen are to be found here. A wide variety of birds, insects and small animals can be sighted. A variety of exciting botanical & environmentally resources, courses & events are offered. Guided tours of the herbarium and garden can be booked. While walking in the gardens you have magnificent views of the George and Cradock peaks of the Outeniqua Mountain. Among the many species of wide plants and flowers are the Erica’s, Protea’s Restio’s and Succulents off the Karoo

Romonza – Seal Island Trips

  One of the items that should be on your list of thing to do and experience when in Mossel Bay in the Garden Route of South Africa, should be a trip on the Romonza. The Romonza is a licensed passenger boat for whale watching, sunset cruises, seal island cruises and educational and private cruises. Through out the trip there is running commentary. Just do not forget you camera! Whales which are the greatest mammals on earth are sighted in the Mossel Bay area regularly from June to November. Passengers are welcome to bring their own picnic baskets. No matter what time of day you wish to go on a trip, the Romonza runs every hour on the hour. This is an ideal excursion for the whole family!
